Welcome to TargetHPV.org, a website dedicated to helping medical professionals better understand the human papillomavirus and its impact on their patients.
HPV is the most common sexually transmitted disease in the United States and causes virtually all cases of cervical cancer, as well as a smaller fraction of vaginal, vulvar, penile and anal cancers. In addition, some strains of HPV cause genital warts. It is our goal to better equip medical professionals to address HPV in their clinical practice and perhaps help their patients avoid some of the more serious clinical outcomes of HPV.
As part of the long-term educational initiative, HPV: Targeting the Hidden Virus, this website will host several CME programs, including quarterly newsletters and interactive teleconference/webcasts featuring experts in the fields of gynecology, infectious disease, and family practice.
